Our Services
Blue Skies provides mobile integrative therapy (medical acupuncture, electroacupuncture, photomedicine (laser), massage and physical medicine) during detailed comfort consultations for mammals, birds and reptiles.
If your animal suffers from acute or chronic illness or injury, we are available to help support you and help give your animal the best quality of life possible.
While we are happy to share our knowledge and counsel pet parents about whole-animal veterinary care, we do not provide vaccinations, medications, x-rays, lab tests, surgery, dentistry or euthanasia. We refer to several of our local, high quality, full-service vet clinics to ensure our patients needs are met in every area.
We are currently seeing integrative care patients by mobile appointment only, in the comfort of their own home.
Our Approach to Care
Dr. Julie uses a patient-centered, cooperative and force-free approach to care, meaning she considers your pet’s experience from the minute she arrives. She approaches the whole nervous system gently, including offering non-slip flooring and comfy beds, soft lighting and muted colors, evidence-based music choices, measured aromatherapy, the occasional delicious snack, careful touching and minimizing noises and distractions.
Occasionally, a comfortable visit might include pre-visit calming medications or supplements.
After a thorough history, a musculoskeletal and neurologic examination with be performed. Dr. Julie will use a combination of massage, gentle myofascial release, acupuncture, acupressure and phototherapy to help achieve tissue relaxation and healing.
We will then review your pets pain management plan and make detailed, easy-to-understand home care recommendations for the time spent between follow-up appointments.
After their first visit, many animals understand that they feel better and are happy for Dr. Julie to come back so they can enjoy the feeling again!
